SEA SALT

Composition:

Sea salt is about 90% sodium chloride. The rest is composed of other chemical salts depending on the sea that the sea salt was harvested from.

Origin:

3,5% of the world ocean is sea salt. If sea water is left to evaporate in a shallow pond, the sea salt crystals are left behind. This process is the oldest process of harvesting salt known to mankind used in coastal areas all over the world.

How to use in the kitchen:

Depending on the sea it is harvested from, sea salt may taste differently, so make sure you taste it before using it in your recipe. Usually though, you can use it in savory or sweet recipes.
